Engagement Portraits: BreAnna & Jesse in Kirkland

We walked ALL over the place the day that I met BreAnna and Jesse for their getting to know you shoot in Kirkland. Why Kirkland? It’s where they live and it’s where they met! As far as the Eastside goes, Kirkland might be the best spot for nightlife and to pick up your future squeeze- one night while out with some friends at a classic rock bar, BreAnna spotted Jesse as he walked in the door and the rest is history. We started at the waterfront, then up to the site of the old junior high (where Jesse’s mom went!), then back around to a local watering hole for our last photo spot. You see, Jesse used to be a bartender so he knows all the spots and and all the right people to make us the perfect Greyhounds and Super Dirty Vodka Martinis. Extra super dirty, like Courtney Love, right guys?? Can’t wait to see everything planner Michelle Engvall is working on for them for their wedding at Newcastle next month!

Miles turns 6 (months of course!)

It’s been so much fun getting to know Miles, Molly, and Mikhail over the last year, and watching him grow from a bump in the belly to an absolutely adorable future heartthrob!  From belly to first year, we’re now half way through!  On a super sunny Spring afternoon I trotted over to their home to find Mr. Miles is the greatest mood I’ve ever seen!  I’m sure it didn’t hurt that Molly was singing his favorite song all day (more accurately- spelling the word H-A-P-P-Y  while singing, babies entertain so easy!) and Mikhail was oinking all over the place.  I’m sure the neighbors were nothing short of entertained themselves!  This one’s for you Molly!  XOXO!

Engaged: Sarah & Tim

Now I’m really in trouble… so behind that these two have actually already gotten married! But while we’re editing THOSE images… since I have nothing else to do at 1 am on a workday (?!?!), here are some of my favorites from our getting to know you shoot a couple of months ago in downtown Seattle! We started around the Sculpture Park, but there was a wedding there, so we just meandered along the waterfront! Early congrats, Sarah + Tim!!!!

Vendor Profile: Nicole Mae Paper Design

I’m so excited for Nicole.  She’s taken that big leap between moving on from her day job to opening her invitation design company full time.  I first met Nicole last year when they invited me to document their gorgeous Woodinville wedding (see her gorgeous mug here!).  Of course, she had top notch invite and program design-she had designed them herself.  We actually went to the Art Institute together, but never crossed paths, although I recognized some of her guests at the wedding as old classmates.  Actually, they recognized me… and after 7 years I couldn’t believe how quickly they picked me out!  Nicole has been designing ever since those old school days, but still loved her job as a photo director at Macy’s, and she was torn between both careers.  She finally decided to take the leap, and she is making a splash.  Check out this gorgeous design of hers, I love the shade of green ;)

Love how she incorporated her client’s personal proposal story into the design of this one:

And for her own, she even included little stickers for guests to choose from to put on their calendars to mark the date:

Take a look around at her site- and if you’re in the industry, you’ll be seeing a lot of her in the next few months as she makes the rounds and introduces herself at all the hip happy hours!  Stay tuned for her blog too, she’s itching to write!!  Luck Nicole!!  www.nmpaperdesign.com
