The Jenkins Family

Over the last few months, I’ve had the joy of going to the Jenkins home to photograph their family. With four boys, each day must be a conglomeration of insanity, hilariousness, and spontaneity. I can’t even imagine being the only girl in the household- kudos to you Laura! We had two fun sessions- one was in the late summer months, and I got to chase the boys around while they played in the yard and jumped on the trampoline. This fall we had a quick session out on the front lawn- the fall leaves and afternoon light made an ideal backdrop for classical American portraiture (which I really don’t do much of, but it’s fun to get outside your box every now and then!). I first met the Jenkins boys a few years ago at another client of mine’s wedding- she had something like 14 flower girls and ring bearers!! The three oldest boys were among the sea of nieces and nephews creeping up the aisle- I’ll never forget the mass confusion and giggles as each kid tried to find his parents! So so cute! Now they’re a little more grown up, but still up to the same old antics!jenkins.jpg

Arica & Eddie

Arica and Eddie’s wedding anniversary was just around the corner when Arica called me about doing a super fun photo shoot. We didn’t want it to be stuffy or super formal, but fun and dynamic, and decided to call our shoot “The Swanky Shoot” (because I have to name EVERYTHING a silly name…). After hair and makeup by Tiara’s On Location, we headed downtown to the Fairmont Olympic Hotel and the Westlake Center for some fun Christmastime city exploration (see, told you I was behind on the blogging!!). They were married last year in December at the luxurious Fairmont, so they rented a room there tohave a mini-getaway for the rest of the weekend (plus some fantastic downtown holiday shopping!). We walked around the city streets, rode on the carousel, took a horse and carriage ride, and ended up back at the hotel for some dressy pics before they headed off to an anniversary dinner.

I Heart Headshots!

Over the last few months, myself and five other gals in the wedding industry have been busy preparing for a very important and exciting announcement. Of all the shenanigans, one super fun task was to get some fun headshots of everyone involved. Last spring and fall, we did Keri’s (Bliss Events) and Kelly’s (Sweet Pea Events), and now it was Barbie’s (Barbie Hull Photography), Eliza’s (Eliza Truitt Photography), and Michelle’s (Mmm Paper)turn!!! (I hope the girl don’t kill me for posting our favorite bloopers, goodness knows there are enough of those of ME floating around the internet! ;)_abc3382.jpg_abc3367.jpg080215_0005.jpg080215_0091.jpg080215_0171.jpg080215_0230.jpgSo, I guess my point is… stay tuned for a very important and very exciting announcement! We should be able to blab in a couple of weeks! And if you already know… keep spreading the gossip for us :)

Chuckle of the Day

I really do have so much blogging to catch up on, and I promise I won’t be one of those people who start a blog and love it for a while, then totally drop off the face of the Earth! This has been such a wonderful Fall, thank you everyone for keeping me in mind when it comes to holiday cards, portrait sessions of the fam and new additions, and prints as gifts for your fam!As soon as I finish up with these holiday orders I’ll be back to blog about Courtney & Tyrone’s wedding, Susan & Gavin’s wedding, the Jenkins family, Keri & Gary, Juli & Christopher, Mike & Holly’s wedding, and tons of random tidbits I’ve been putting on the back burner. But today, as I was editing a cute little family portrait session, I came across this image and had to share-it cracks me up to think of the sheer volume of drool that kids produce. I wonder if anyone has ever measured, scientifically speaking…_xyz1441b.jpgp.s. mom isn’t in the habit of giving her baby candy- this was the first time he’s ever tasted sweets (purely for the picture of course! I come prepared with Blow Pops to some shoots…). He totally shuddered after tasting the overwhelming, cheek puckering, sweetness!
